Right of the bat I want to tell you. Out of all my piercings. Cartilage piercings hurt the most. They aren't over in a flash it takes some muscle to get them through and it throbs. They take the longest to heal. And they generally hurt like a bitch most of them time. If someone puts a phone to you ear, ouch. If someone touches your ear ouch. You generally have to switch the side of your head you sleep on. Other times. they aren't that bad depending on how much the are aggravated. The bulk of my piercings are in fact cartilage. Industrial, Conch, 2 Tragus, Cartilage piercing on the upper ear. Cartilage is not vascularized so it takes much longer to heal. Clean them regularely. But pretend they are not there. Ignore them. If you touch them they hurt more. The most you have to worry about is positioning. Keep rechecking where your piercer wants to position it. Your ears have a lot of area from awesome designs and different piercings. But if you and your piercer aren't on the same wavelength then you can get something that you didn't really want. Don't be shy. It's your body.
