Septum PiercingThe septum is the membrane behind the central cartilage of the nose.
Septum piercings reach from remote Africa to Indochina and South America.
Original ornaments included feathers, shells and animal teeth.
Piercing location is through the thin tissue between the inner cartilage and the outside edge of the septum.
The piercing should be placed well forward and high towards the tip of the nose.
A proper piercing will allow a ring to hang freely.
